Artistic curriculumAlessandro Fantini completed his studies under the instruction and guidance of the baritone Walter Alberti and the bass Angelo Cavaliere. In 1996 he was selected to take part in the Progetto Opera Studio (Opera Study Project) of the Teatro dell'Opera of Rome where he studied the roles of Count Robinson (The Secret Marriage) and Raimbaud (Le Comte Ory), interpreting the latter in the end of course performance. In 1997 he attended the course for opera singers La Parola Cantata at the Teatro di Rifredi of Florence organized by the European Union and the Regional Council of Tuscany where he studied the Mozartian roles of Don Giovanni, the Count of Almaviva and Guglielmo in particular and he played the first of these two in the end of course performance (directed by A. Savelli). During the years from 1998 to 2000 Alessandro Fantini attended the courses held at Cento by Maestro Claudio Desderi on Rossini's farces Il Signor Bruschino, L'Occasione Fa il Ladro and La Scala di Seta. In 1999 he attended the courses held at Farra d'Isonzo by Maestro Claudio Desderi on Don Giovanni and at Susa by Maestro Alessandro Corbelli on Don Pasquale. ![]() The "Opera Studio" group of the Teatro dell'Opera of Rome in 1996 with Vincenzo De Vivo, Nino Bonavolontà and Paolo Montarsolo ![]() With Walter Alberti and Alberta Valentini In 1998 Alessandro Fantini was the winner of the prize for the best interpretation at the Luigi Infantino International Opera Competition and he won first prize in the Rome Festival International Competition in 2003 for the role of the Count of Almaviva in The marriage of Figaro. In 2001 he was awarded the Giuseppe Verdi prize by the Giuseppe Verdi Association of Sabaudia. Alessandro Fantini alternates his theatrical performances with concerts, in which he has appeared in many prestigious Italian and foreign concert halls and venues. He collaborates on a regular basis with the pianists Arman Azemoon, Ida Iannuzzi and Giovanni Velluti, as well as with the director Marco Brogi. |
